This week’s community highlight features the community of Pioneer Village. Nestled within the bustling city of Marquette, MI, this community has so much to offer those who choose to move to the area. The city of Marquette alone is the largest city in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, making it a major port for shipments of goods to the area. Acres of mountain views, parks, and recreational trails line the land which make the area an outdoor-lover’s dream. In addition, there are a handful of small islands scattered across Lake Superior. Hikers, bikers, and snowmobilers come out to play on the many local spots, including the Iron Ore Heritage Trail and the Noquemanon network of trails. Sugarloaf and Hogback mountains are scenic spots for those of all ages to enjoy. If the outdoors does not call your name, there are plenty of local tourist spots to hit along the way. Shopping and museums are plentiful and if you are looking for something new, check out Northern Michigan University’s campus as well as the Superior Dome. During the warmer months, finish out your day with a walk along the miles of beachfront of Lake Superior. The community of Pioneer Village is a perfect spot for a relaxing lifestyle but still having the ability to be close to many activities and attractions. It is pet-friendly and the small-town feel amidst a larger city is a desirable asset.
