Today’s community highlight features Lake Onalaska, one of our northern communities located within the scenic town of Onalaska, WI. The town has been labeled “the prettiest drive in America” which comes full circle once you take the drive up to visit. Miles and miles of bluffs and trails can be viewed, as well as stunning water views, stemming from the city’s close proximity to the Mississippi River. If you are interested in partaking in outdoor activities year-round, Onalaska can provide as well. Fishing is a popular activity, especially in the colder months as Onalaska is a perfect spot to go ice fishing. Snowmobiling, hiking, and biking are also prevalent activities, thanks to the Great River State Trail. This trail spans about 24 miles, between Onalaska and Marshland, WI. This trail is unique, because it is multipurpose and allows outdoor enthusiasts of all types to participate. It also connects with 3 other bike trails which all together span about 1/3 of the state of Wisconsin. If outdoor recreation is not for you, Onalaska also features a quaint downtown area with many shopping and dining opportunities to choose from. The community of Lake Onalaska itself is a quiet and family-friendly choice for all residents. It is pet-friendly and hosts a number of community events each year for its residents, including an annual picnic and garage sale. Spacious parking and storage are also available, a nice benefit. If Northern Wisconsin is the place you want to be, Lake Onalaska could be a perfect fit for your next home.
