We are kicking off the month of May by featuring another one of our fabulous communities, Forest Junction. The community takes its name from where it resides, in the town of Forest Junction, WI. This town may be small, but it sits in a prime location, just outside of the Fox Cities area. For those who enjoy life without all of the hustle and bustle, there is really no better location to settle down in. The Forest Junction area has a number of outdoor recreation areas and parks for residents to enjoy, most notably the Friendship State Trail. This four-mile trail passes through both wooded areas and farmland, offering a lot of space for hikers and bikers alike. The trail is also popular with winter sports fanatics, as it is a common spot for snowmobilers and skiers. Wildlife enthusiasts may find enjoyment visiting the Brillion State Wildlife Area, which offers endless opportunities for hiking, hunting and wildlife viewing. Additionally, there are miles of scenic natural area to enjoy. Another local spot is the Ariens Museum, which offers a deeper look into the manufacturing culture of the Midwest, a unique opportunity. Our community of Forest Junction presents residents a unique living experience, as the town itself is such a quaint spot to be. The community is pet-friendly and offers various activities for residents to partake in if they choose. A playground is also available for those families with children. The nearby Brillion School District is known for high achievement, which is another benefit of the area for families. A FEW FUN FACTS:
· Forest Junction’s namesake comes from its location close by to a rail junction and near a forest.
· The community is technically located in the town of Brillion and is actually unincorporated.
· Forest Junction is located only about 30 minutes south of Green Bay and 30 minutes east of Appleton.
· One of the first post offices, the Forest Junction Post Office, has been standing since the early 1870’s.
