Our featured community this week is Falls View, located in Fall River, WI. This small town is located in south-central Wisconsin, about 40 minutes north of Madison. The community may be tiny, but it is vivid and full of history. The most notable landmark is nearby Aztalan State Park, which features various archaeological sites of the 10th-13th centuries, well known to the area. The structures represent important settlements that were established by indigenous groups once plentiful to the area. The park is visited by residents and other tourists throughout the year and also offers various nature programs to guests. For those who enjoy outdoor activities, the Crawfish River is a popular spot for fishers and hunters to play. The river itself is about 80 miles long and is a watershed of the Mississippi River, which was given its name in the late 1980’s. The town of Fall River is also close by to the Horicon settlement, giving residents the opportunity to use the Horicon Marsh area for their outdoor activities as well. Manufacturing and industry are important to the area, and it shares the wealth of some businesses in the Madison and Columbus areas. The town itself is also home to numerous manufacturing and construction corporations. Falls View, one of our smaller communities, is located near the center of town and is a quiet but friendly place to live. The community is pet-friendly and allows residents to be close by to everything Fall River and the surrounding areas have to offer. If you believe a small-town, but bustling environment would be a great fit for you, Falls View and Fall River may be just the place for you.
