This community is located in the small town of Brodhead, WI, which sits perfectly between three major Midwest cities! Madison, Milwaukee and Chicago are within a short drive away, making this town perfect for those who like convenience. The town of Brodhead, itself, offers residents a comfortable living experience and is filled with history and charm. It is almost impossible to not find something for you. For outdoor enthusiasts, the Sugar River State Trail is a dream. This trail offers hiking and biking in the summer and in the winter, it becomes a skier and snowmobiler’s paradise. If you prefer activities with less adrenaline, the town’s history museum and shopping are a great option. Brodhead is also home to Decatur Dairy, one of the area’s most well-known cheese makers. They have been selling local meats, cheeses and other gifts to residents and tourists since the 1940s. Cardinal Crest itself is a lovely community that provides a welcoming, small town environment to all of its residents. The community holds special events for residents which allow them to stay connected to their neighbors, such as the annual community picnic. A FEW FUN FACTS:
· The Half-Way Tree is located just south of the town of Brodhead. This tree was historically a marker of the halfway point between Lake Michigan and the Mississippi River.
· Three Wisconsin state highways run through town, Hwy 11, 81 and 104.
· Brodhead is located in both Green and Rock counties.
· The town is thought to have obtained the ability for electricity before any other town in Wisconsin.
